Nightlife Spot: sukhumvit night market
Every area has its own market, particularly night-markets. My favourite, mostly because my hostel was nearby, is the night market along Sukhumvit Road, roughly between the skytrain stops of Asok and Nana. It's not very big but at least it sells some local handicrafts. it sells plenty of imitations (watches, bags, clothes): expect to have to bargain hard for imitatons, and remember that, however little you pay, the quality is extremely low. A friend bought a handbag which lasted exactly 3 days before falling apart.

Nightlife Spot: sukhumvit road
foot massage, thai massage, foot massage... seriously speaking I am not much a person for crazy nights out, so I opted for massages instead. All over the city there are several massage parlours, some are even of the respectable kind (in this case you can normally see the massage area from the street). Average prices (july 2002) are 200 baht for foot massage and 150 baht for thai massage. As a general note I must add that thai massage did not impress me much - it was nice to try once - but generally speaking I prefer more traditional forms of massage.
