Favorite thing: Sigiriya is the Lion Moutain: it's a 200 metre high rock which once hosted a city and a royal palace. The mind behind all this was King Kashyapa who, in the 5th century, decided to create this 'Palace in the Sky'. The palace, of course, would have been on top of this rock.
Fondest memory: Not the remains of the palace, nor the breathtaking way up on the rock's face - it's the damsels' painting found in a pocket of the rock: there is such grace in those frescoes, such beauty. The best sight in Sigiriya
