Glad you came to this site. I love to travel and learn about different cultures. I would recommend the magazine "Budget Travel" to get started. The "Lonely Planet" guide books are very useful too.
Before I start out on any trip, I spend several months to research about the area and local customs. Make each trip an adventure. Have a outline for a timetable, but remember its a Vacation. Enjoy the moment and be flexiable.
