Munich, Bavarian's Capital

by Helga67 - last update: Mar 23, 2004

Schloss Nymphenburg
Residenz
From the first moment I laid eyes on Munich, I fell in love.
Chic and cosmopolitan, Bavaria's capital and one of Germany's biggest cities, Munich has more than its share of great museums, architectural treasures and historic sites. The same could be said of its abundance of lederhosen and oompah bands. But it's the overall feeling of Gemütlichkeit that makes the city so special.
Volksbad
Some great places to visit are the Residenz, English Garden, Schloss Nymphenburg, Marienplatz and Deutsches Museum, but there is so much more, go and see for yourself.

Pros:"A great variety of museums, beautiful architecture, great atmosphere, safe, clean, huge parks, Oktoberfest"
Cons:"Expensive"
In A Nutshell:"A city with a heart"

Glad you liked Munich, too. I'll be going there again in December -- on business, as usual, but I also hope to do a bit of sightseeing before I leave.

I have been to Munich quite a few times, my fave city in fact, but I always like to read what other folks say. You've done a great job with your Munich site.
