The Pancake Bakery Pancake Bakery Review

This is a great place for pancakes. There are 70 different pancakes to choose from, pancakes for dessert (sweet) or for lunch (salted). Portions are huge and well filled.

The restaurant is located in the cellar of an old storehouse and it is a cosy place with a lot of old pictures on the walls.

Pizzeria La Traviata

When you are in the neighbourhood of the Rembrandtplein and you fancy a pizza or pasta, this restaurant is a good choice for your money. The interior is nothing special, the waiters are rather cold but the food is delicious. You can choose from several pizzas and pastas.

Metz & Co Metz & Co (Department Store) Review

On the upperfloor of Metz & Co (a department store) is a lunchroom with a great view.
Big windows give you a good view of Amsterdam from above.

Favorite Dish: They serve a variety of delicious sandwiches.

Indonesian Restaurants / Rijsttafel: Bojo Bojo - Review

This is a good inexpensive Indonesian restaurant near the Leidseplein. We choose this one because it was the only restaurant in the whole street where nobody was standing outside trying to welcome you into their restaurant. So for me this meant that it had already a good reputation and didn't need the extra attention. And indeed, it seems to be very popular, especially amongst the young people going out and wanting something to eat late at night.
The restaurant looks like a hut. There are not many tables, they are close to one another and the seats aren't really comfortable but the food is just delicious. They don't serve alcohol.

Favorite Dish: I liked the Nasi Rames special. This was a "mini" rice table: one plate with different small portions of Indonesian specialities in combination with rice (nasi). It is a good way to taste several dishes.
