Changing of the guards

The changing of the guards at the Prague Castle is every hour from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.. However, try to be there at noon on the inner square at the main entrance. Then it is relieve of the guards accompanied by music.

A Czech sweet

This sweet can be found at the Christmas stalls. It is some kind of bread with caramel and sugar cooked over a grill.

Christmas market

From the beginning of December to the beginning of January you can visit the Christmas markets. The main markets are at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. There are also smaller ones at Havelske Trziste and Namesti Republiky. The Christmas markets are daily open from 9 am to 7 pm.

They sell Czech handicrafts (wooden toys, scented candles, Czech glass, Christmas tree ornaments, hand-made jewellery ...) , hot food and warm drinks.

Brightly lighted christmas trees and decorated wooden huts make it wonderful to visit at night.
