    • Hasselt being the number one for Gin, you should, at least, try this beverage once. It will be served in a little glass and you can choose out of more than a hundred flavours. The one, I like the most is the lemon gin.

    • Try one of the local beers.

    Michael Jackson wrote in his book "The Great Beers of Belgium": "HAPKIN has a very good, fresh, flowery, saaz hop aroma, a very big, creamy head, a soft malt caracter, and a spritzy, perfumy,fruitiness, drying toward the finish".

    My husband did the test and agreed with Michael :-)

    • Try one of the local tarts, you can buy them at the bakery. They are well-known for being just delicious.

    • I suppose you already know what this kind of coffee is?

    It's like Irish coffee but instead of using whisky you use the famous gin of Hasselt.

    • If you have been to Brussels, you have surely seen a lot of nice cartoons painted on walls of houses. Belgium is the land of several comic strips, among which Tintin is the most famous one.

    Lately, I have noticed that the city of Hasselt has also started to paint their open spaces with Belgian comic strips.

     Looks verz chique and promising from the outside. Service was bad, long waiting. uruguan steaks were shoebottom, salad was just big salade leaves no decent dressing nor creativ plate, the shrimps and chicken were overcooked, the parma discount quality.    		mvtouring Fri Mar 23, 2007 10:25 UTC
