Venezia

Piazza San Marco

No matter how you picture Venice, be prepared for the reality to be stranger and probably lovelier than you imagined. It is no use pretending that you can do justice to its treasury of sights on a short visit.
Fondamenta Gherardini, Venice

Most of the time it is best simply to wander at random, for Venice is as much a city of atmosphere as of museums and monuments.

Built on a hundred and twenty little islands, linked to the mainland by four hundred bridges Venice is unique.

Nice looking page, very good pics and useful infos. Unfortunately, I don't like Venice, except for Burano.

Excellent Venice page. Oh well, the Campanile bells can be indeed very annoying when being up there. Ehmmm, are you sure that no pigeon was hurt when the Campanile collapsed in 1902? ;-)
