Wijnegem shopping center - Belgium

Wijnegem shopping center

Wijnegem Shoppingcenter

Outside of Antwerp there is a very huge shopping complex. Besides the many shops, there are also a lot of nice eateries and a care center for children. It's a great place to visit when it is rainy or hot. You can easily spend a whole day here and have a great lunch and/or dinner.

The shopping center is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Fridays to 9 p.m.). Closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

What to buy: Almost everything, but especially clothes.

What to pay: Normal prices

Directions: Highway E34/313 exit 18 direction Wijnegem. You'll see the huge complex on your right.

What to buy in Belgium ? - Belgium
What to buy in Belgium ?

What to buy: The number one thing to buy in Belgium is without doubt the Belgian chocolates, called pralines. But we are also famous for our lace, diamonds (from Antwerp), antique, tapestries and pewter.

Antique and flea markets are generally open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Regular stores are open Mondays through Saturdays from 10am until 6pm.

What to pay: Recently I heard on the radio that most Belgian products are more expensive than in other countries of the European Community.

What to buy: The Belgian Chocolate Praline is not to be confused with the American praline. Pralines in Belgium are sublime chocolate confections, the highest achievement of the chocolate maker art: A beautifully sculpted chocolate shell concealing a center of filling explodes with a surprise of texture and flavor in your mouth. Many chocolatiers still make their pralines by hand. Every town and even small villages have chocolate stores with luxurious pralines.

Famous Belgian Chocolate:
Galler
Godiva
Leonidas
Neuhaus
Burie
