Hello! For many reasons Mexico City is an interesting place from an architectural perspective: It is five centuries old (very old for american-continent standards), it has been an European colonial city and the capital of a country which has received the influences of many different cultures. Here you can find architectural structures of a vast array of styles: manierist, baroque, neoclassic, eclectic, art-nouveau, art-deco, and all the XXth century ones. In my opinion, besides its picturesque qualities, it can be an exciting place if you have a particular interest in architecture; here I will share tips from this perspective. (Also, I built a webpage with pictures from buildings of the city) http://jrubig.tripod.com/mexicoc itypics |
