Pretoria Transportation Tips by Deefstes

I'm sorry to have to tell you this but the public transport in Pretoria (and South Africa for that matter) is of exceptionally low standard. I might even say it's pretty much non-existant.

South Africans rely greatly on their personal transport for getting around. Of course there are cabs, which are generally quite pricey and nowhere near as common as New York, London etc.

A form of transport that is quite popular, especially amongst the local black population, is that of minibus taxi's. I've used them quite a lot myself but their system is still a mystey to me. They're cheap and surprisingly effective but I would rather not recommend this to tourists.
