we took a day trip down to naples from rome, and oh! the weather was perfect, a little warm, very sunny and the bay of naples was sparkling like diamonds in the sea. it was beautiful, just like i always imagined it to be.

we visited pompeii, saw mt versuvius - the climb up to the great city was a little steep but not too bad. we were awe-struck by what we saw, the structure of the city, how modern it was back then (they had water pipes and "beware of dog" sign post!). i ran my hand along the walls of the city and it was simply unreal. the sensation was undescribable.
