"More than just a golden roof... " a Innsbruck Travel Page by morgenhund

Having originally hoped to take in Osttirol and Südtirol with a trip to Innsbruck being the climax of the Tyrolean trilogy, work plans scuppered the trip, leaving me with just a few days to travel to Tyrol, so I decided to head from Vienna straight to Innsbruck instead - I've not regretted it. The city has a charm that I have not experienced in Austria elsewhere...

I've since started going back for weekends from Vienna - with a railcard and a first class upgrade, it really is a very pleasant trip and not one that breaks the bank. Moreover, with a lightweight laptop and mobile internet connection I can usually work productively on the train as I go - using the fine backdrop along the way as inspiration for my work.
