Oberwesel is the quaint town we stayed at one night on the rhine. The cool thing is that our hostel we stayed at was up on a hill next to a castle that you can stay at, if you have money. We opted for the $15 night as opposed to the $100 night due to money restrictions. But all the same, the town was quaint and had good food. The best meal and wine we had in a long time.
