Paris, the cultural capital of France, and some argue the known world. France has always been a major player in world power since its inception. Its geographical location and climate make it ideal for many things. It's had many leaders such as Charlemagne, Napoleon and Inspector Clousseau of the Surete. There was a period of dark times, much like the rest of Europe, but France has never lost grasp of its hold of world power, only to be occupied by Germany a few times, and the occasional warring with Great Britain. They have given us Americans such great things as the Statue of Liberty and French-Canadians as neighbors. The history of France is too great to go into as much detail here, so I invite you to find it out yourself. Paris on the other hand is a big city of much arrogance and charm. A love-hate relationship for me. I've been to Paris like three times, and it is the most visited destination in the world I think, so excuse my 'blase' rhetoric. Most of this stuff people know about, so I will make it more fun. |
