Well, recently have searched at the Net for some infos on Cabo Frio and surroundings for a VT friend so now I will post this infos here in no order to later on put them on Travelouges and VT-Advices..just that they do not get deleted!

I could not respond you very fast, but I am here now..searched the Net for some
diving places and agencies you could dive with near of Rio..I am not an expert
on this, 'cause I have never dived yet...!

Yes, Angra dos Reis (Rio state) and Abrolhos (Bahia) seems to be nice diving
spots, but I guess if you really wanna meet Sergio from Rio he could take you
maybe by car (I am not sure of that, but you can ask him to take him to there
during your Rio stay if it's at a weekend, or go by bus there....) to Cabo Frio
(120 kms north from Rio) where he always go to visit the family from his wife..
and which is definitely a good diving spot near of Rio too! Nearby is a city
called Arraial do Cabo where you will definitely have good diving conditions
too!

I guess in Arraial do Cabo the "Pousada Rayerland" seems to be very nice and in
August you will pay around 150 Reais for a double room...maybe you can bargain a
better price 'cause you will be alone (I guess)...
