The small town of Estepona in Andalucia, Southern Spain grows larger everytime I see her. I remember when I was a little girl and my mum and I used to drive up there nearly every Sunday to go see friends we had there, and the place looked so Spanish. Now you go there and there seem to be more Europeans holidaying there than actual Spaniards living there! So many international shops, restaurants and supermarkets popping up everywhere! This of course attracts people from far and wide, but is this what the locals really want? I know I prefered it when it was just Spanish shops there.
Apart from the main city of Estepona, there is Estepona Port a delightful place to while away your hours looking out at the boats whilst sipping a beer and licking an ice-cream! And this is what my page is going to be about. So I hope you enjoy the read......
Just under an hour from La Linea where I live, right next to Gibraltar, you'll find it a pleasant journey up. We always drive up there but you can get a direct bus from the La Linea Bus station, agan, right next to the border when you cross over into Spain. You pass hills, mountains, lots of new developments going up all around you, and you can of course see the wonderful blue sparkling Meditarranean Sea gazing back at you. This photo I took was of one of the market stalls at the port which is held every Sunday. You have to get there early though as parking runs out and the restaurants fill up. The market starts to close around 230pm.
- Pros:Ideal for a bit of sunbathing, reading a book and people watching!
- Cons:Not much to do in the winter
- In a nutshell:A picturesque hidy hole

Nice job Victoria. I have just finished my own Estepona page too. Merry Christmas!
Hi Victoria, how are you today? Greetings from Poland.
Next time you are out here you must try the fish restaurants in Sabanillas, small sea side town before you reach Estepona. You´d love it there I am sure.
