"Heart of the Alps" a Grenoble Travel Page by jthreasher

Grenoble is a very pretty city, with mountain views in all directions. It's not very big, I think roughly 500000 people, but it's very lively and has a student population of about 50000 people. It's expensive to go out, compared to going out in England, but the bars are generally nice and most importantly one can find English bitter, even if it does cost an arm and a leg. The location is good, next to the Alps, only five hours drive from the Côte d'Azur and not far from France's second city Lyon, which is a very nice city to visit.
