Amidst the colourful changing scenery of cornfields, forests and lakes there is this little heaven called Frantsila.

Trusting on the richness and the health nature spends Frantsila is devoted to the philosophy of organic growing and peacefull harmony with nature.

Seminars for interested are held every now and then.

Unique Qualities: The estate consists of some nice and rather old loghouses, garden and a saunabuilding. The main house has as a kitchen, a dining room, a seminar room and a little shop.

The other house "Vihtorin talo" has 23 beads in four rooms. This cosy loghouse is being protected by the spirit called Vihtori, Victor.

We were the only guests at that time and did sleep like babies... thanx Victor!

Have yourself a treatment here! From herbal bathing, to traditional sauna and soothing footmassage... anything goes...

The dunes (hiekkas?rk?t) of Kalajoki are famous in Finland.

So, we had to check it out ourselves, and yes the view when the sun sets is magnificent. But unfortunately the dunes are being crowded by lots of buildings, mainly hotels... this is very sad.

I rather prefer the dunes in Yyteri, Pori.

Unique Qualities: Well, for one night the location is quite cool, camping just behind the dunes, with only some 80m to the shore... the quieting sound of waves washing the beach.

No special place, just a clean bed.

Maybe too expensive for what they offer.

Unique Qualities: A nice and big bathroom in the room, though.

This campground is located just between the animalpark and the lake Hankavesi.

Stay either in your tent, a rent-log house, your camping car...

Unique Qualities: Excellent services in the facilities. Rent a sauna for 50min and take a dip in the lake out front. Play a round of minigolf on the campground

For the tent expect to pay 9e and for the sauna 11e.

Go and see the animals in the park only a 15min walk away.
