Getting TO/AROUND: Laugh at the car drivers and dash through between the cars during (constant) traffic jam. Only, it takes some guts not only to mount one these speedsters but to actually drive them, for once you are being sucked up by the flow you may not pace down, THAT would be dangerous. However, these vehicles are undisputedly a good alternative to four-wheeld transportation.

'Mode': AROUND
Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: There are 2 metro lines in Rome having one connecting point in stazione Termini. At first the idea of two lines in an X-shape crossing the city seems fairly good. But the poor quality of the services AND the rather long waiting times AND the way too little waggons (capacity) of the metro make it an agonious trip at any time of day. Use the buses - if they happen to run...

Category: Train
Getting TO/AROUND: Travelling from Fiumicino airport to the city centre is easiest by train. You have two choices either take the Leonardo Express to stazione Termini or the Metropolitan FM1. I personally use FM1 (5e single fare) to Trastevere. The stations Ostiense and Tiburtina are connected to the subway line B. So if you want to avoid the stazione Termini hustle use this option.
