Favorite Thing: The Piazza Venezia with Vittorio backing her up is in my opinion a splendid hot spot, for from here you may start your various walking tours within the centro storico...
Fondest Memory: the white stones, marble amongst others, of the huge complex around the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II are on clear sunny day blinding - mind your sun glasses : )

Favorite Thing: In the end of the summer head to the St.Peter's early in the morning - on a weekday preferably, oh yes and make sure the sun is shining. Enter the church hall and walk down then main ship, then turn around and rest in contemplation. The picture might give you a hint of what I mean. God's finger come down and reach for you - where else than here?
Fondest Memory: Maybe the architect was a clever guy or maybe a woman? and had planned this scenario carefully or it just so happend that the sun would shine "miraculously" through the upper windows and create this nice effect.

General Tips: Egypt in Rome?

Favorite Thing: The area around the station of Ostiense might not be the most elegant but there certainly are interesting sights.
Fondest Memory: When I visited Rome for the first time I came in by train from Fiumicino. On the way I suddenly spotted a pyramid on my left hand side. Wasn't I surprised, was I? There is a real pyramide in Rome close to the station of Ostiense. It's not as huge as the ones in Egypt, but it's still massive. Go and have a look at it!

Favorite Thing: Campo dei fiori is worth while a stroll even though you didn't plan on anything. Besides the flower vendours there are fresh veggies and all sorts of different types of herbs for sale.
Fondest Memory: Just look around and listen to the kakophony, smell the many odours and see all the wonderful colours....
