Milwaukee is a small town on the west coast of lake Michigan and is only an hour and a half away from Chicago by car.

The most interesting thing in Milwaukee is the new pavillion of the Milwaukee Art Museum designed by the world famous spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The new pavillion is build with 18 000 square meter beton and 2 100 tons of steel. The whole pavillion is white and the wing that spread over the pavillion close, if the wind is too strong. The wingspan is approximately 67 meter (3 meter longer then the wingspan of a Boeing 747-400). And the construction time was 3 years.

Milwaukee is also known for its beer brewing. That's why it's called "The Brew City". So as you can imagine there are a lot of pubs and restaurants in downtown that offer their own brewed beer. Unfortunately not so good as an european one (too watery...), but it's worth tasting.

Also as a part of Wisconsin it is produced a lot of cheese here.

The river Milwaukee floats trough downtown Milwaukee and that's where most of the bars are situated.

It is a great place to be in the summer, because of it well known (in this area of USA) summer festival.
