Again, sadly, I have no pictures of my own. Tahiti was the first stopover with the boat from New Zealand back to The Netherlands. I remember it was about a week of sailing from Auckland to Tahiti with nothing but sea in between. I was 12 years old at the time.
There are a few vivid memories: the souvenir ladies on the quay, selling huge shells. The mango trees in the streets. The glass boats for coral sightseeing. And I saw, for the first time, that famous drawing of Freud with a naked woman incorporated in the picture so her drawn-up knee is actually his nose.
Oh, it must be found on the net somewhere. Funny that I remember that one.
