Where "Die Wende" began

by ATLC - last update: May 11, 2009

Sculpture in Leipzig depict historical era's
Die Wende (the turnabout) in the 80s was the end of the Iron Curtain in Germany. The movement began in Leipzig, more specifically in the Nicolai church.
Of course Leipzig is also the city of JS Bach. The city is alive with restaurations of old buildings, yet the signs of the old DDR are still very visible as well.
A vibrant city with lots to see and do.
