Just across the Maas from the better-known village of Arcen.

The ferry from Arcen to Broekhuizen takes just minutes and costs € 1,50 for a car.

The red-roofed building is hotel restaurant Het Veerhuis where I stayed.

Ach ja, Broekhuizen - daar vlakbij ben ik ooit "op kamp" geweest (jaren 70) - een eind Limburg in, dat vond je toen al heel wat ...

Interesting small page! Restaurant Het Veerhuis? Seems to be great but $$$$? - I would rather skip it :-)

The word, "Broek" looks like the English "brook", meaning small stream. Is Broekhuizen from someone's name, or is there an English translation?
