Radio Kootwijk is in fact a different location altogether from nearby Kootwijk. It's history started in the 1930s when a radio transmission station was built here and along with it the employers settled here in a tiny village on the heaths of the Veluwe.

The station was closed down in 1998 but is now a state monument for which a good purpose is still being sought.
