Veere connects to the lake Veerse Meer and is a major stop for sailors and boating people. In summer this harbour is completely full of boats. I myself have "lain" there with a sailing boat. Now, in March 2003, it is just before tourist season and it is still quiet. At the end of the street on the right you see the yachting club and boathouse.

The imposing town hall Veere used to be a major town in the 16th century. Now it is just a small town, the size of a village actually. But the grandeur is still on every street corner. |
