Trabener Hof: A cheaper option to Hotel Bellevue Trabener Hof Review

I'm writing this tip because this hotel is the sister hotel of Hotel Bellevue (exactly, the one I am gushing about on this page!). If hotel Bellevue is booked, you could go for a cheaper but very agreable alternative by choosing Trabener Hof, which is but 5 minutes walk from Bellevue.
They have the same packages but cheaper.
For instance, this package (click here).

It's 235 euro in Hotel Bellevue, but only 170 euro in Trabener Hof.
Normal room rates: 80-110 euro per night, double room (2007).

Unique Qualities: I met some people in the bar of Hotel Bellevue who told me they were having a good time at the Trabener Hof. They were directed there because Hotel Bellevue was booked full.

Directions: The entrance to the reception hall is in the side street Rottmannstrasse. Here you will also find a small parking space. Or enter the hotel through the restaurant in the Bahnstrasse.

Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue: Hotel Bellevue dependances Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue Review

Hotel Bellevue is much larger than you would think. First of all, the main building is not that large. There is a modern extension that you wouldn't notice inside but visible from the outside. And there are a few buildings with more rooms and apartments at a mere 2-5 minutes walk away from the hotel. Make sure you state where you want to stay when you book. Or you might not find yourself in the main building. See my other tip for advice on rooms.

Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue: Rooms at Bellevue Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue Review

I've had a quick peek in one or two rooms in the front (and oldest) part of the Bellevue hotel. Rooms up to 111 have period furniture. Rooms from 112 up are modern (see 3rd photo) and although you might enjoy the period rooms with view of the river Mosel, I most certainly enjoyed the modern junior suite that we were in. More spacious, good bed, and very near the wellness center. That junior suite cost 138 euro per night.

Unique Qualities: There is an elevator. Each floor is decorated with period furniture, wonderful lamps and old photo's and pictures.

Our room (114) was a junior suite. Included hair dryer, bath robes, extra big towels for the sauna/swimming pool, flatscreen TV, minibar, two couches in a sitting area, a safe, free internet (if you took your laptop which I did!), quite a few new magazines. Smoking allowed.

Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue: 3 nights in top hotel Romantik Jugendstilhotel Bellevue Review

This is a 4-star hotel (bordering on 5-star if not worth it already, if you ask me).
I'll make a few more tips about this hotel because of its different aspects (wellness center, and dependances). See also the restaurant tip.

Unique Qualities: As I write this, I'm still staying here (3 nights, free internet!) so I'll finish this tip when I get home. Excellent and very welcoming reception, great food, wonderful Jugenstil architecture, excellent junior suite, free use of wellness center (Turkish bath, swimming pool, sauna, etc.). Super breakfast, great location on the river Mosel in the lively center of Traben-Trarbach.
