Name of Shop: Lace
One thing you'll find a lot in Malta is handmade lace. I really thought it looked a lot like what you have in Brussels but then I have no knowledge of it at all. If you like it, you can shop for lace to your hearts content. The photo shows that one of my hostesses also tried a hand at lacemaking herself. She told me it was positively relaxing to do this. I guess you can only make lace if you concentrate fully. Looks very complicated!

The maltese pastries you meant are named "pastizzi". The cafe in question should be Gordina; in Republic Street. Ciao! |
