France is one of my favourite holiday destinations. I've been travelling to France on many occassions for over 20 years now.

Every trip to France has been a highlight.

I've added more than 25 new locations under France, mainly in the regions Alsace, Bretagne, Lorraine. They are old trips, from before digital camera era. But I've checked the availability of accommodation, restaurants, etc. for 2007. So all info, where applicable, is up to date.

Who says French breakfasts are nothing but a bit of bread, some jam and coffee? You can make your own, with French bread, cheeses and lovely pastries.
In the Local Customs Tips I have added many French specialities. Because for me, French = food and when I have the opportunity to cook on holiday, I pack my knives!

Tete de veau is called souse in Ohio in the USA. It's also called head cheese for some reason. My grandmother used to make her own. We discovered Flammekuchen in Alsace and love it. Great food photos!
