"Hoorn" a Hoorn Travel Page by OlafS

This is a nice town. Actually much nicer than I expected. I expected Hoorn would be a small place with a few nice old buildings. In fact it may be small, but it's packed with interesting architecture. Unfortunately I came here at the wrong time, August the 12th 2003. A big fun fair was held in the centre, blocking many buildings from view or at least getting in the way to make pictures. That's my first tip; do visit Hoorn, but make sure there's no fun fair. I was also a bit in a hurry and completely forgot about the monuments that I probably could photograph without any problem, like some parts of the old city walls. Tip numero 2; make sure to take your time in places like this one.
