Antwerp Travel Guide: 2,853 reviews and 7,112 photos
Living in the province of Antwerpen I think it was only a matter of time before we visited the provincial capital. What on the map looks like a great distance took us in fact less than an hour driving, parking included. Antwerpen is a great place for sightseeing and shopping. Not the prettiest city in Belgium, but probably one of the most lively. And dare I use the word authentic? I think I do. This city attracts tourists but hasn't compromised to tourism as much as a certain city in the Netherlands, the name of which I won't mention here (starts with an A, ends with msterdam, now you guess), which today is more of a theme park than a true city. Hurray for Antwerpen for staying "real".
The relatively short distance and the presence of a free parking area makes it quite attractive to me and my wife to go to Antwerpen regularly. Being the proud owner of a bus card, I can even visit for free as many times I want. Not that I have ever been there by bus, but I'm sure I will someday soon.
I'm not an insider but I'm beginning to get to know the city.
Right now my page about this city is only a modest start. Eventually I will get here more often, and it will expand. All in due time. What probably won't change is the purpose of this page; it's about what to see more than about what to do. Like all my pages.
PS; I hope you don't mind me using the name Antwerpen instead of Antwerp. I think 'Antwerp' is silly.

Only been to Antwerpen on a day visit from amsterdam, however going to visit my friend there in June. Looking forward to it ;-)

The Carolus Church - indeed one of the most interesting churches in Antwerp.
