"Newark: The City of New Jersey" Newark by NewarkDevil
Newark Travel Guide: 92 reviews and 141 photos
Newark is probably the most misunderstood city in the USA. It suffers from an image drawn from the 70s and 80s (the Dark Ages). Few realize that just as the city dropped significantly in its vibrancy, safety and attractiveness between the 60s and 70s, between the early 90s and now the city has undergone a drastic revival. Car theft is down substantially and overall crime has dropped 50 percent in the last five years. The city has new attractions to add to its old ones including the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Riverfront Stadium. Still there are Symphony Hall, the Newark Museum, the New Jersey Historical Society, Branch Brook Park, the Portuguese and Brazilian Ironbound and the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

Thanks for the warning! I might go to Newark someday. The sections I will go to are the Ironbound and Downtown as well as the North Ward. I will avoid the bad parts.
Thank you for taking the time to put together good pages on Newark. VTers need to know that Newark has more than an airport!
Nicely detailed page about the positive parts of Newark. The information on your page is very accurate.
Vitor, many many happy returns of the day. Wishing you a happy birthday and great travels. Greetings from India. Superb page and tips.
I was just in Newark and I could see a city on the road to recovery.
There is enough info here for at least two day trips and still lots left to discover.
Great in depth look at Newark. It's an emerging city, often overlooked but has some fantastic sites.
GO BEARS!
nice, evenhanded look at an interesting place.
This is a good page. I was just in Newark for the first time yesterday. Wish I had seen your page before I went!
