Ross & Kelli at Home

Well, since we live here I figured it was time to tell you about Michigan, at least what I know (which isn't much). We live about 30 minutes north of Detroit, very close to Lake St. Clair. I've only lived here for 3.5 years but Ross grew up here, I'm a Pocono Mountain (PA) girl!

Anyway, there is a lot to do here. It's funny, everyone goes 'Up North' on the weekends. This means they either go to Northern MI or to the Upper Peninsula to cottages for summer weekends of swimming, relaxing or in the winter to hit the trails for snowmobiling. Ross and I keep very active all year round...wouldn't have it any other way!

Now, I guess I'll tell you about what we do here, what it's like and where to go. Basically where we live it is very flat! Coming from the mountains in PA living here is somewhat wierd for me. The further north you go the more the mountains, I think the little ski hills they have here are cute...they don't compare to PA let alone Colorado! We live near a lake, St. Clair (you can actually see it on maps but it's smaller than the great lakes) and we have a houseboat that we spend many summer days and nights on hanging out with friends. Us boaters are considered, Eastsiders while the west side (not the state but the area) is more city living.

Most people here, especially on the east side tend to love to enjoy life. There is always a party during the summer just head out on your boat and you'll find one anywhere. Many people go into hibernation during the winter but many of us hit the trails and snowmobile our way through trails covered with snow covered pine trees, scenery, friends and of course stopping at all the little pubs for a drink. (when I get pics scanned I'll post). Our motto is 'work to live' not 'live to work'.

Great Michigan pages. You need to add to that, visit Royal Oak, downtown Birmingham, and Summerset Mall. And Cranbrook!
