Appolonia : The archeologic city of Sousa Aljabal Alakhder , This Arabic word which means the green mountain. This is the name, the area of east Libya has been anciently known by. That was because of the green color of the trees during the whole year. The trees in this area don't lose their leaves in the winter, usually. This place extends from 20 km south of Benghazi , and 75 km east of it , to include most of the east of Libya to west of Derna. The area is rich of landscapes , Greek and Byzantine remains , some new cities with Islamic architecture and traditions and very amazing beatches which are close to the mountain and have a lot of trees , palms and vallies specially in Jarjaromma , Alhaniya , Sousa , Ras Alhilal and Lathroun. It is one of the most wonderful places in Libya . |
