Ko Phangan is located off the east coast in the Gulf of Thailand, close to the island of Ko Samui. Ko Phangan has long been a backpacker haunt, and is quickly developing into a more popular tourist destination. Famous for its "Full Moon Parties", held monthly, beautiful beaches, cheap accommodation and laid back culture, Ko Phangan makes a fantastic addition to a holiday in southern Thailand. You can choose from the bustling Hat Rin area, the main city of Thong Sala or some of the more secluded beach areas. Activities include diving, snorkelling, hiking, kyaking, lying on the beach, getting a massage, sampling delicious thai meals and just chilling out. There are pleanty of restaurants and bars in the main centres, with food and drinks to suit all budgets.

Part of the fun of Ko Phangan is bungalow accommodation, cross country drives in the back of a ute full of people, buying pancakes from a road/ beachside vendor and watching the mix of local life with foreign visitors. The island has great infrastructure but it isn't a 5 star resort, and that's why we love it! Enjoy!
