the most important monumental maya site of yucatan, with chichen itza, but more picturesque with its undulating landscape.
its best periode:between 7th and 10th centuries.
what impresses us most is the abundance of decorative elements (typical of "puuc" style)and also the human dimensions of the site.

We enjoyed the Mayan ruins. They hold the same facination for me as Romain ruins in Europe. It is too bad the Mayans didn't send emails to the Romans so they could exchange thoughts on early civilizations.

Great place! The staircase of the pyramid may be long and steep, but it deserves the effort, doesn't it?
