awfully refurbished,the white square is today pink! great polemic from the esthetic point of view between old and modern... from the square,take jiron union,busiest of lima centre streets,to plaza de armas....

plaza mayor,ex plaza de armas was the heart of the city,in conquistador francisco pizarro's times....you'll find his tumb inside the cathedral. a square keeping a provincial spelling,rather rare nowadays through south america big cities.... ... visited not only by tourists tours but mainly by a lot of pupils.... the cathedral looks really as a spanish one...i mean,in one moment,you forget where you are really...just imagine you are in deep spain! built in 1551...rebuilt after 1746 earthquake
