Impressive Ancient Capital of Siam - Ayuthaya

by leonik - last update: Apr 11, 2005

Mysterious yet enthralling...

Ayuthaya beckons like an old treasure map... urging one to uncover its many gems... a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.

A city of plentiful ruins... glorious and awe-inspiring, giving the visitor an idea of the scale of grandeur Ayuthaya must have been before.

Picture: Possibly the most easily recognisable image upon mention of Ayuthaya - the Buddha's-head-in-tree-roots at Wat Mahathat.

Yeah, Ayuthaya is a nice place to visit with all its tradition, laid back surrondings & near to Bangkok :) I enjoyed my trip there a few years back.
