The capital city | 1958, when the city was just a small town |
Why do we say Three worlds in one, well, this is how we want you to know this country, here you will find the inland areas with high mountains, the rain forrest, we have tours that take you there and make you walk and breath pure air, this is healthy for everybody. Then we have the sites where Mayans lived and left this amazing piramids and ceremonial temples and the remains of a developed culture that they had before the Colombus ships arrived in America, and finaly the third world is our part of the caribbean, with great and unique beaches with white sand and clear blue water, all in one small country in the middle of the american continent. Yes, the picture was taken by my father in 1958, this shows how it was in those days. The capital of Tegucigalpa (1.2 million people) is located at 998 meters above the sea level sorrounded by mountains that rise to almost 2000 meters above the sea level. Is a fast growing city, but not the most fast growing city of the country. It was never founded.. somehow it just started to grow around the year of 1579 becouse the discovery of gold and silver in the mountains that today sorround the city. |
| American Fast Food Restaurants in Tegucigalpa |
| | THE NEW LOOK OF THE CAPITAL Tegucigalpa has received a great influence from the biggest nation up north, the USA, and here in this pictures you can see how we have our own "American Restaurants area", this is a common effect in central america and around the planet. Near by my house we have about 50 restaurants, american food, cafes, donnuts, sea food, mexican food, chinese food (very luxury restaurants), arabbian food, and of course Honduran food. |
| Fridays, Pizza Hut, and Burguer King |
| | La zona viva de la Capital An entire mile of the Boulevard Morazán is full of restaurants, I just turned around on my feet and got this other pic. with TGI Fridays and Pitzza Hut restaurants. I just need to walk for about five minutes from my home in order to get here. |
