If you are in Poland trying to buy a ticket, and not knowing how to do this - just ask (in English) anybody young nearby. Most probably the first person you ask will be glad to help - people like every opportunity to train their English. Almost everybody that went to shool after 1989 knows English at least good enough to help you with buying a ticket.
Older people had mostly only learnt Russian in school as a foreign language, and in ticket standings there are older people.
