    • I highly suggest taking daytrips to see the rest of Tuscany. It is beautiful and much less crowded than Florence. I like Chianti for its lushness and all the wineries. It's great to go winetasting. The vinters were all very friendly and accomodating and you could feel that they loved that they did and they were happy to share that with you.

    • One of the things that I have done in order to learn more about the city outside of the city center is to pick any of the buses that I haven't ridden on yet, don't know where it goes to, hop on and see where it will take me. I have seen so many things I never knew the city had to offer. The number 7 bus takes you to Fisole which is a tiny little town on the hills above Florence. Amazing views of Florence and a few great things to do in Fisole too. Also, on Tuesday mornings between 8-1pm hop on the number 1 bus going north to Piazza Cascine where there is a huge market with amazingly cheap clothing, shoes, housewares, produce, etc. I was in heaven when I found this market.
