Petronas Twin Towers at 452 meters above ground, and at 88 stories, it's the tallest building in the world. Unique in design and an arresting sight.
The floor plan is based on an eight-sided star pattern. The 63-metre mast which crowns each tower, resembles minarets of a mosque.
These masts caused controversy. The tower and pinnacle together make the Petronas Towers the tallest building in the world. However, it was considered unfair to count the mast to measure the height of a building.
That's why the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats created four categories to determine height.
Height to top of the building (highest: Petronas Towers)
Height to antennas (highest: World Trade Center, New York)
Height to highest occupied floor (highest: Sears Tower in Chicago)
Height to roof of building (highest: Sears Tower Chicago)
