Ocean City was founded in 1875 as a small fishing village, and over the years, it has made a gradual transformation into one of the most popular vacation destinations on the East Coast and was the recipient in 2001 of the National Civic League’s All-America City Award.
If you grew up in Maryland , most likely your family set aside a week or two to go 'Downie Oshun'.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Sand,Sun, beach food....happy hours.. Seafood..nice waves..
Cons:dumb kids driving, nothing is free......
In a nutshell:Will always go ' Downey ocean ' , Have Fun

What a lovely family you have! Great warning tip. Restaurant tip was especially wonderful. Who babysat? Looks like there's lots to do for adults and children. Some brilliant photos to accompany the helpful tips.

Wow - ponies right on the beach? VT does have an Asseteague page in MD. I haven't been there since 1956 or 57.
