Shinjuku Washington Hotel (Main Building): The location is good but Shinjuku Washington Hotel Review

Personally, I prefer the Century Hyatt or the nearby Hilton. The service is good. But, I just didn`t like the way the building looks. It has a real 60`s or early 70`s feel to it. It`s literally `square`. If you go there then you`ll know exactly what I mean. From the outside the hotel looks like a bunch of blocks put together. It offers small windows providing an insignificant view.

They do have non-smoking rooms, but a much smaller selection than the Hyatt and Hilton. It should be mentioned however, that I had to pay a higher price for a non-smoking room than for a 'regular' room when I asked to stay there.

Overall, I would only stay here again if there were no other choices... or I just wouldn't go on my trip. That should give you an idea about how likely I am to stay there again.

Century Hyatt in Shinjuku - Tokyo

Century Hyatt in Shinjuku

Century Hyatt Tokyo: My Favorite Hotel in Tokyo Hyatt Regency Tokyo Review
Show Prices

I have always experienced excellent service here. One of the main reasons I have prefered to stay here even though the price is higher than a number of other hotels is because of the excellent service and because they have a large selection of non-smoking floors in addition to large non-smoking sections in their restaurants.

The Century Hyatt caters to a large number of foreign businessmen and it is one of the best hotels of choice if you are staying in Tokyo.

Unique Qualities: The staff are very helpful and they all speak English well. The Hotel also offers good views of the Shinjuku landscape.

The view from the restaurant on the lobby floor is nice and sunny providing a good way to start your morning with a newspaper (free) and a cup of coffee.

Address: 2-7-2 Nishi-shinjuku Shinjuku-ku, 160-0000 Tokyo

Comparison: more expensive than average

Directions: The Hotel is located right next to the Shinjuku Governmental headquarters.

There's free shuttle service to and from Shinjuku station every 20 minutes.

Tokyo YMCA Hotel - Tokyo

Tokyo YMCA Hotel

Tokyo YMCA Hotel: good cheap (for Tokyo) accomodations

I stayed here once about 10 years ago. It was a great deal for the price. Although the room I was provided with was a small it was a good non-smoking room.

If you need to save money, want a non-smoking room, and reasonably good services, I recommend this hotel.

The staff can also speak English.

Ana Hotel Narita: A Nice and Quiet Hotel ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Narita Review
Show Prices

I stayed in a very nice non-smoking room.
This hotel is a good choice to stay in for the value and quality of what it provides. In addition, it is located close to the airport and provides free shuttle services.

Unique Qualities: Overall, this hotel doesn`t feel overly busy compared to many of the hotels I`ve stayed in while in the Tokyo area.

It`s cheaper than hotels in the downtown Tokyo area and considerably quieter because of the lower number of clientelle.

I also suspect that it tends not to be completely booked.

Address: 68 Horinouchi

Comparison: about average

Directions: near Naritta airport,
use shuttle transportation or a taxi

Price: US$120-180

I recommend this hotel for the good service and accomodations. The staff are very foreign friendly and speak English well.

I actually prefer it`s breakfast to that of the Century Hyatt`s.
