The City of Brotherly Love

Yes, Philly....a city I spent a mere 5 or 6 hours in, yet never feel the need to return to. I went there to check out Tyler University, a reputable art school, and also Bill Cosby's alma mater. What I found was a pretty decent looking school in the middle of a scene from the movie Friday. Needless to say, I'm just a skinny, white chick and I don't need to be killed just getting my Master's degree. The area around Tyler was so scary that my friend, Moose, who is 6'4" and a big, burly man with an afro, was uneasy the whole time we were there. I was worried about his car disappearing and he was more worried about being caught in crossfire. Once we got into the city area, it got better, but not that much! We saw the Liberty Bell (whoopee) and ate at a very cool place called the Gargoyle Cafe. The shopping was the pitts and the art gallery across the street had paintings that looked like things I did in elementary school. I'm sure I didn't give Philly the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not willing to get killed to find out how great it can be. There are so many other places to see.

This is a painting that was leaning against a wall in a studio at Tyler. I thought it was pretty great.
