Why...

Venice Beach, Venice Beach....
How many times we TV addicted 30s aged europeans ex-adolescents have seen on TV about the fabled places in the US? How much those amazing stories have influenced how imagination? Our dreams?
Many people may say "not much, our millenary history make us immune to the sirens singing from the distant New World".
I think they lie.
We all heve been kids and boys, we all have seen those blonde fabulous girls dancing on their rollerblades through the streets of Venice, kissed by the sunset light, sliding through palms and seagulls.
We all have dreamt to be there, in that place where everything seemed to be joyful and full of happyness.
Well, my luck, I have been in Venice, and I have seen a normal seaside village, nothing more. People hanging around, markets, large beaches, a warm beautiful sun. A nice place to hang around, like many others I saw in my life, not an heaven.
Sorry if I'm hurting someone's feelings, but this is what I think, this is still a free world, more or less, isn't it?

Pros and Cons

Pros:wanna spend a pleasant day at the beach? Go there...
Cons:...but don't expect to find more
In a nutshell:a pleasant stop, not a stand-alone destination

I agree. I grew up in LA and I've known all along that it was a hoax. I almost cringe with shame at what Hollywood does to our image. California is a wonderful place to live...but it is not how its portrayed on certain TV shows and the big screen!

I must have missed part of the story. For me Venice, Ca was the counterpart of Venezia, It. I like your page but as a non TV addict, I am unable to decipher completely the meaning of your intro. I guess that many American TV series were shot in Venice?
