"The hidden park" Top 5 Page for this destination Sequoia National Park by shivan

Sequoia National Park Travel Guide: 325 reviews and 611 photos

Why hidden? Simple.
The Sequoia National Park is located almost in the middle of California, maybe the most visited state in the United States, but it is still quite difficult to reach or to add it to a full California tour.
There is a big highway running southbound from the Yosemite National Park through Fresno and Bakersfield but it is not close to the park. At a certain moment you must leave it, head eastwards towards the mountains to reach the park.
It is a long deviation, and you will also be forced to do the same route to return to the towns along the highway and go on travelling.
That is why we decided to "miss" the Sequoia this year. The route should have been too long.
The flooding in the Death Valley, our next planned destination after the Yosemite Park, forced us to find a different route towards Utah and Arizona, where the great marvels where awaiting us.
Forced, but welcome, new destination: the Sequoia National Park, and an improvised night around Fresno.

Pros and Cons

You are right, you really have to see these trees in person to understand how impressive they are! My grandparents used to live near here, so I've visited this park several times.
