Never a problem, I'd say. A large number of discount motels and hotels is available in every single microscopic hole you may find here. It is clear to me that California is a state where reception is perceived as an absolute value to always keep in mind. A large percentage of the rich California's economy should come from tourism, and this explains everything. Accomodation is available in lodges as well as in camping, (almost) always at a reasonable price.
