California is not, as anybody can think, only beaches, Disneyland, beauties on rollerblades and Hollywood. It is a land of contrasts, you can find what I said before, but also deserts, green-coloured hills, high mountains, parks, snow (!). California is also a border land. The more you go south the stronger is the spanish-mexican influence, and everything changes again... I returned there this year with joy and anticipation about all the new things I'd have seen and all the things I'd have loved to see again. This time I dedicated more time to the land between the big cities than to the cities themselves. I know, or better, I may imagine, that there are so many little "secondary" towns to visit in the USA, but I preferred to go to San Francisco and San Diego again and then drive through the land for miles and miles. The new entries in my California wanderings this year have been the Monterey Bay and the Sequoia National Park |
